Exposed Card Overlooked as Burn Card
What happened
A card was exposed while being dealt to a player and was set aside to serve as the burn card before the flop. The dealer then mistakenly burned another card before dealing the flop. The error was not discovered until after the turn had been dealt.
House ruling
The completed flop and turn remained in place. The exposed card remained out of play, and the river card was dealt without burning another card. In the future, a card should be burned before dealing the river.
Reasoning
TDA rule 35.D is clear that once substantial action has occured in a hand, the hand must be played out as equitably as possible (unless the deck is fouled).
